Talking I got a Moon Cup!

I have been reading about these things for a while now on BB and finally decided to buy one!!! Yay!!

I think I'll be a bit nervous though when it arrives in the mail..... haha!

After reading some bad things about tampons and pads, I'm looking forward to using something that is better for my health! And the environment!!!

Should I also buy a few cloth pads? Will they need to be worn with it at first while I get used to it? Any advice please! Was thinking of buying 4 cloth pads.....?

    Hi
I really like my cup and hope you 'enjoy' yours.
the first cycle I waited till teh flow eased up a bit before trying it, so just used some pads I had lying around. I found i got the hang of it quite quickly though, so haven't had to use anything else since the second cycle.
I have a heavy flow the first night and have to empty during the night or I leak. If you find the same thing, you might need a backup pad if you don't want to empty in the middle of the night (I'm always up at some point anyway). But other than that, I haven't needed any pads. I would only get 1 or 2 if I were you, and see how you go.

I got mine off the uk site years ago. I LURVE it!

Only draw back is I have flow that has a sudden surge on day 3 (*TMI* you know that clear fluid?) and I find it fills very quickly to overflowing unexpectedly sometimes.

On the first couple of nights I use a pad as my flow is heavy but after that I dont use them. I just empty it every loo stop in the first few days then a couple of times on the last day or two. easy! No more buying differnt absorbancies, knowing how many to take everywhere, having them fall out our pocket or handbag etc etc. You can even wear it the day you are expecting AF if you dont have any pockets to carry it! It's good for getting to know exactly what your flow is like etc, feels better (not drying) and is way cheaper in the long run too. Yay for mooncups!

Dont trim the stalk too short to start with. I found I could shorten it more after I got used to using it.

I've just come to this part of BB now to find out about cloth pads too actually!

Sneaky, my sister, charmalea, sells them thru babybeehinds (can I say that?). I got mine from her. I'm so grateful I have mine!

Shanti, I love mine! I'm still getting used to using it, but it's fantastic!

I have saved soo much money! And if you're out and need to "change", just clean and reuse, instead of digging through your handbag and not finding another product !

Sazzafrazz, I have not trimmed mine and the stem does not stick out at all, but even if i have not pushed it right up and it is out a little it causes no discomfort...

It is the BEST money i have ever spent in terms of managing AF!!! and i have 2 JIC i loose it!

oh yaaaaay!! I can't wait to get it !
Glad to hear so many of you are so happy with yours! Awesome!! I should have got one sooner! AF only came back when DD was 8mths and I'm so sick and tired of using disposables!!! yuck.

I ordered 2 x Twinkle Lily cloth pads.... just to try out! They're so pretty!

I think the fit kinda depends on the length shape of your vagina. I've trimmed my stalk almost completely off - but that's just the way it works for me.

I think it was around 40 pounds all up... whatever that is in A$. might be cheaper if you can get it here and there are other brands of similar products.

I know! I think it's partly cause I'm now used to reusable nappies, but disposable stuff just grosses me out now. I remember someone years ago mentioning cups to me and I shuddered and thought it was the uckiest thing ever...how things change hey?
