Calling any Sunshine Coast IVF ladies

I am new to BB. I hope this post and new thread works.

Just wondering if there are any ladies who use IVF clinics on the Sunshine Coast and what your experiences have been?

Sorry that you have to be going down this path and I hope that your journey is a short one!

I have used two on the coast. When we did our first cycle we went to one at Kawana and saw a specialist that was located within the hospital there. I hated our experience that we had there. They treated you more like a number than a person and I was not impressed at all. I didn’t feel comfortable with the FS that we used to the point that I was scared to go and see her without DH (which was hard as DH was working away at the time). We stuck with them/her though because at that point to change FS and clinics it would have set us back a couple of months as we would have had to have gotten new referrals etc etc. Needless to say that we changed clinics and FS after our first cycle. We then went to a clinic at Nambour and saw a FS who was located just outside of the Selangor Hospital and never looked back! The FS was absolutely wonderful and he and my DH got along like a house on fire which made me heaps comfortable. We did a frozen transfer with them early last year and had no success, did a fresh with them end of last year and success! I never felt uneasy calling up the clinic asking questions (no matter how silly I thought they were). They were great even after we got our BFP and could just chat to me sometimes about something completely off track. I would highly recommend them and had no problems what so ever with them. They are a little bit more on the expensive side (as compared to the other clinic) but I think well worth it if you want to be treated more like a person rather than a number.

Once again good luck with your journey. My only advice is to ask HEAPS of questions no matter how stupid you think they are as they are important to you - you are the one forking out thousands of dollars.

Hi Sharni,

I am with Sunshine Coast IVF, with Dr Moir. So far we have been treated very well by both the Dr and Nurses however we haven't actually started anything yet. just going through the very early testing stages so we don't really have anything to compare to.

Not sure if u have sorted out finding a fertility specialist yet but we used coastal IVF- Paul Stokes. Needless to say we have a 10 month old bundle of joy and are about to embark on round 2. I heard James Moir is good- I saw him while my Dr was away and he has a gentle caring bedside manner. A friend used him for her pregnancy(not for fertility treatment and said he was very professional
