Well i often joke that my laundry is MY OFFICE and have seriously been thinking to put that as a sign on my laundry door ...
I recently bought a bright orange laundry clothes hamper for DD's clothes for in the laundry which got me thinking i wanna DO my laundry in some fun bright colours .
The walls are just a plain cream colour, ceiling white, tiles above trough are a light green & light yellow (though not very noticable as not big tiles) ... linen cupboard is white. I'm not looking at repainting as wanna sell in a couple of years so thought i will just purchase some bright coloured items like a maybe a hot pink hand-towel, and a bright aqua picture for the wall, a bright dangley light-shade um maybe bright purple or bright yellow (no green as i have enough green happening from the previous owners else where in the house)... and maybe something bright to sit on the window-sill (like glass items that the sun can shine through and look pretty) ...
... then there is my old daggy grandma looking ironing board cover ...YES i never put my ironing board in the cupboard as the new Dyson vac has started living there but that's fine with me, it's not in the way and just leans against the wall.
So ladies i need to know where in the heck can i buy a Funky Bright ironing board cover (and yes for those that know me IRL as much as i'm holding back NOPE no covers with naked men on 'em ).
I'm happy to buy online websites if that's a suggestion of anyone's (just be careful NOT to put the site name here).
TIA for any ' funky ' ideas you might wanna add to jazz up my dull laundry (or rather MY OFFICE) and of course any ideas where to BUY the ironing board cover
Smiles,
I got my bright blue (with dolphins) at a stall in the middle of my local shopping centre.
I'm pretty sure I've seen them at the local markets and Target as well...
Not sure of any websites sorry
I have made my own in the past... so chosen my own fabric... it's not hard at all! I've found in the past that some of the funky ones aren't very well made... poor quality elastic etc. My current cover is one that i bought online. It's made by Fitz Like A Glove. Google and I'm sure you will find them. The quality is fantastic and the company is a cottage industry based in rural NSW money goes to people with special needs (who i think even help make the covers). Anyhow... they are plain colours but like i said the quality is the best i have found.
................ phew Bath i was starting to sweat it there thought you were gonna suggest i sew my own, then i had visions of my accidently sewing an ironing board cover to my arm, lol
thanks Bath i had a peak but yeh reckon i'm more after a pattern or picture on it ... though i did love the colour of the bright buttercup one
I bought a brightly colored stripey one from Bunnings of all places. It had matching clothes hamper as well. It was 6 months ago so not sure if available now? There were a few different designs
no more suggestions for you, but I remember my Mum having one of those ones with a near naked man on it - this on was a construction worker who looked a little too much like the one from The Village People with a hard hat strategically placed and it always freaked me out ROFL
ETA - had a google and the fitz like glove ones are great if you want a solid colour, but I found another site that does them called clarencebees and they have some gorgeous funky fabrics. They may seem cheap, but I don't know if that is a reflection of quality of not like Bath suggested. You have to buy the padding separate.

.... Thanks a million Trillian, had a looksy at the clarencebees site, yeh nothing popping out to me though did like the red with white poka dots but wouldn't suit my laundry ... WOW, i must say there is some interesting shower caps there if anyone's interested
Can you believe it's taken me this long to finally buy my ironing board cover (well it took for another hole in my old one to prompt me, lol ) ... so i bought one today whilst in Spotlight, the label is Sass and the Cotton ironing board cover comes with the foam underlay padding also for only $19.95 the set
If you want to check out the range of designs just google Sass ironing board cover as they have a website !!!!!
Not quite my dream pattern on it but it will do .. In the range there was a funky one with all the cities of the world on it including Melbourne written on it but i didn't get it cause i was after a brighter colour and the colour i think was charcoal with white print.
Overall i think the one i bought is quite good quality for $19.95 with the padding included and fits brilliantly on the ironing board (nice flat & firm, i don't like bunching) !!
TIP : just so you know when you go looking for a new ironing board cover to get a FELT underlay (padding) because foam ones give off a burning smell when ironing whereas felt ones don't
