Not quite sure whats going on in my body, or where to start - HELP

Because I've only just started ttc, I don't honestly know where to begin aside from tracking my cycle... Which I've been doing for the past 6 months anyway, as my periods were always irregular and they only came good about 6 months ago, so I began tracking them. It turns out I have a 40 day cycle. My last period ended on Sunday December 20th, after starting on the 16th. 4 day menses is pretty normal for me, so nothing new there.

Now, because of my 40 day cycle, I never knew when I ovulated, completely not sure as I don't really have ovulation symptoms that are noticable to me. SO, on Wednesday just past, I used a Forelife Ovulation Test Kit.... I got a pack of 7, enough for a weeks worth of tests but the instructions said that once you got a positive test, you didn't need to do anymore. I got the test kit on Wednesday, tested on Wednesday, and it was positive.
So my partner and I then proceeded over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to hit the baby dance with abandon! Yay, fun!
Friday, I had a wee bit of bleeding ONCE during the middle of the day, I saw it when I wiped after going to the bathroom. BUT I wonder if it has anything to do with straining to do a poo, as sometimes I bleed vaginally when straining to poop... So it might have had something to do with that, I just don't know for certain.

Saturday comes, and I am bleeding more. Not enough to make my panties dirty, only usually when I go to the bathroom. It doesn't look the same as my menses... I can tell this because the blood is mixed with cervical mucous... it does make it seem that there is more blood than there actually is and its confusing me.
I've had also had minor pains in my lower abdomen... But I'm not sure what thats all about.


This whole thing confuses me... What on earth is my body doing? The past 6 months my cycle has lasted 40 days, and so its not time for my period yet...
And I tested positive to ovulating only 5 days ago, hence the major bed banging that ensued for almost 3 days, but now I just don't know what my body is doing. What is this bleeding all about??? It's kind of scaring me!

eeeks, I know I only posted my original post like, 2 minutes ago, but I just went to the bathroom to find my panties have a big wet bloody patch on them....
I put a pad in a clean pair of panties to check out what happens next, but it still doesn't look exactly like a period... It feels different, and its not time yet...

Surely I couldn't be having a period NOW when I tested positive to ovulating such a short while ago?

I really neeed help here, I'm so confused.

ttc has it's up's and down's with a bit of confusion added to the mix, you're not alone.
For now, if you're up for a bit of reading, there are a few similar posts in the charting section that I've replied to previously. That might help til the morning.

We posted at the same time. The bleeding must be really confusing for you.
What were you temps like this morning? Lower than normal? What CD (cycle day) are you today?

Today should be my Cycle Day 32 out of 40.
Am still bleeding today, but its so very little, barely anything has come out onto my pad in the past 12 hours, and its next to nothing when I go to the bathroom.... And its not even blood like anymore, its more brownish.

I haven't been tracking my BBT, because (1) I don't actually know how and (2) I wanted initially to just try and do everything normally, because I know for a lot of people its when you start really trying and counting and stressing and charting and thermometering that it won't happen. So at least for a time, I wanted to try to not do anything like that and just have sex at the right times and limit myself to, at most, the OPK so I know when the time is right....

I have looked at doing the BBT charting and stuff for the future... I don't really understand how it works.

On Wednesday when I used an OPK to check out what was going on, it came back with a positive and so partner and I went nuts doing the baby dance for Wednesday, Thursday AND Friday.
After sex on Thursday I had a wee bit of bleeding but tried not to think anything of it....

But then on Friday I had more light bleeding, and I've had ultra light bleeding since then, its light to the point that its not making much of an impression on my underpanties or a pad.... Normally my periods have a tendency to be quite heavy and thick with a lot of clotting, but this is mostly very watery brownish gloop thats barely existed. Since putting a pad on, the only reason I've been forced to change them is not because they're dirty but because they start falling apart around the bum area (they always do for me, dunno why).


I've done a few temperature checks, but my temperature just seems to be dropping if anything, so I'm quite at a loss for whats happening.

I have an appointment at my local womens clinic tomorrow, which I booked weeks ago, before I was even positive I wanted to start ttc, I'll talk to the nurse and such, see what they say.

My ultra light bleeding finally finished late yesterday...

I've been doing my BBT at pretty much the same time every day since Saturday, and it started on Saturday at 36.3
Dropped on Sunday to 36.1
Dropped on Monday to 35.7
And yesterday went back up to 36.3 and is still the same today.

Energy levels have been pretty low....

Still confused about this whole thing, as I'm positive last Wednesday that the OPK was positive, the test line was DARKER than the control line. But then to start bleeding on Friday afternoon.... it has me going "wth"

I've been tracking it all on FertilityFriend and as soon as I put into the chart that I had "light" bleeding it changed me to a whole new cycle, when I'm not even sure that it was my menses, as it was so different to my usual menses. Usual menses is messy, very bloody and horrible. This was.... practically nothing in comparison to my usual.

So... I was confused and couldn't make sense of the cervical mucus...
FINALLY figured out why!!!

I went to the doctors last week and got test results today...
I have a vaginal bacterial infection, "Bacterial Vaginosis" specifically Gardnerella.

This has been causing a discharge, which, because of how new I am at TTC, I was mistaking for awesome fertile CM.
I'm now on anti-biotics for the next 7 days...

And I'm also 4 days overdue in waiting for AF...
Still confused.
