    Education Maintenance Allowance...

    I am wondering if anyone can help me. I notice on some paperwork received from a school that you can claim Education Maintenance Allowance...
    It says only in victoria.
    Is there an equivalent in other states?

    you would need to contact your local education department - there are similar payments in some states. you provide your health care card direct to the school and they apply for it for you - fees etc are taken out of it, and if there is any left, you get the balance (well, that's what has happened in the past - not sure now!)

    Id like to know....why cant a child who has a health care card have the EMA?
