Question Can I get some help please??

    TRAINEE MEDICAL
    RECEPTIONIST
Trainee required for busy GP Practice 3 days per week. Applicant must have excellent written and communication skills, good computer literacy, strong interpersonal skills and be highly motivated. Applicant will be required to complete Cert III in Medical Reception.
An email outlining "why you want a career in Medical Reception" and current CV
Everything is changing this year & I've been thinking about getting back into some work. I was just going to go down the local take away & work for a friend, but then this came up. DD2 starts school this year & mum was planning to come in a couple of days a week to have Jesse anyway. DH rang to say he's coming home for good hopefully this weekend too & he won't have work, so would be home for the girls & DS.
But then I saw this. I was thinking about doing a medical receptionist course at TAFE this year anyway, so I think it'd work out pretty good.

So anyway. A few questions. First of all... what is a CV? Is that your resume?
Plus, I have no idea what I would write in the email/application letter. Why would I want a career in medical reception?
I've always thought it'd be a good job to get if I could, but thats not really enough to go in an application letter, lol.

Applications close today, so if anyone could help I'd be greatful! I've never really done this before.

a CV is curriculum vitae, fancy term for your resume.

what do you know about working in medical reception?

what skills do you reckon will be beneficial in medical reception?

how do you skills match up with what the job entails?

They will want to see that you understand what the position is, and how you are the perfect person for the job. You want to address each of the points they list in the ad / position description and give examples of how you meet the criteria.

so, i guess you will be talking to customers (patients) as well as drs and possibly drug companies or other people delivering to the service- you need to give examples of your ability to communicate with people at different levels.

the ad mentions that the clinic is busy- talk about how you are good at prioritising tasks, and remaining focussed when busy.

talk about why it interests you.

and lastly, make sure you proofread before you send it in.

    good luck

Yes, a CV is your resume (curriculum vitae)

I would answer along the lines of the field being of interest to you, that you had planned to undertake the course so you would be looking at a career as a medical receptionist and also talk about your longer term goals in what you would want to achieve in that line of work further down the track eg. becoming proficient in all of the required skills and potentially moving into medical administration.
