Disturbing dream - what does it mean?

Last night i had a weird dream and i am wondering if anyone can shed some light on the meaning for me.
I will try and include as much of the 'insignificant' thinsg that i remember, cos it is probably these things that have more meaning.

I was talking to someone, i think we were at a running track (unusual place) and i saw someone that i use to run with (i ran distance when i was a teenage) anyway she was really really skinny and i remember thinking that if i had kept running i would have a nicer figure (!!)
Then the dream jump and i was at a house and someone was dying... initially i thought that it was the girl.
I remember it getting close to this person dying - i couldnt see them, i wasnt in the room, or it was all dark.
I remember there being some talk of sorting a school out (as in enrolement)
Then i was outside the room, on the grass looking up at this house side on, it was double story white weatherboard and there was some funny green paint on the top story area near a window...
I was looking up at the window and someone said ;it wont be long now' ... it was this point that i realised that it was me dying.
As i watched the window, a smaller window appeared inside the window and it had a cross in it and there was a light on. I felt my breathing change and the light went off.
At this point i felt like i was slipping away and i knew that i had just died, there was no breathing and i was falling into this really deep nothing... not like falling asleep, there was no pain, no feeling, just nothing... then i got scared and and didnt want to die, i was still not breathing and i knew that in a few seconds i would be dead.
I fought back up and opened my eyes, i dint want to die.

after making sure that i was really alive (moving and touching myself and some really big breaths) i opened my eyes, checked MJ who was sleeping between myself and DH and prodded DH to makes sure they were both OK.
Then i checked the time... 0505.

What do you think???? I am really quite freaked out by this

I don't know much about dream interpretation, however I believe 'death' is not about dying, it is about change (?) Perhaps you are making a decision to change something about you or your life? Perhaps health wise?

    Thanks for that...
there has been a lot of big 'change' talk between DH and I recently, its really positive stuff, so hopefully this is indicating that it is a good thing not something bad!

Sounds like it could be related and perhaps the difficulty breathing is... (not sure how to word this - sorry).... fear of not knowing how your decisions will affect you/your family or taking that initial step of change? I'd be interested to see if you have the dream recur and then it stop when your changes happen.... best of luck.

In steps, as I see it..
A running track makes you just go around in circles. You never progress forward to anything new.
Dying; moving away from going around in circles, moving on to the next phase.
School/enrolment talk; making things official, making a final decision, officially moving forward to the next step.
On the grass looking at green paint on a wall; the 'grass may be greener', but it doesn't have to be grass. That decision may make your grass greener (things better), but it may come in a guise that it doesn't normally.
The death as you described; stepping back from the decision, not ready to commit, second guessing the move.

    Does that help?

I see the girl and the running track as your own perception of your past (or some of it). I agree with RhiChiChi that the 'dying' is about change. The fact that you didn't know it was you until later (when you were looking at the house - which may symbolise your family or home life) means that the change is coming quicker than you'd like or sooner than you're expecting.

The house and the window seems to me to be your security and the light going off and your 'dying' seems to be a fear of the change and being trapped - or swept along against your will.

Green can often mean money or wealth - so it could be that you're keeping a close eye on finances which is meaning you're missing seeing some other things.

Not sure if I'm making sense here - but it's the impressions that I'm getting. Hope it helps a bit!
