    Good idea Anna!

I'm doing second year Psych at Monash. I'm on campus and doing it part-time. What is a standard 4 year degree is taking me at least 6 years to complete (that is if I don't have any more babies until I finish!) But it's not over then. I have to do at least 2 years of post-grad to practice as a psych...looooonng road ahead.

Semester starts in March and I've just viewed my booklist (more than $500 )

    Good luck everyone.

A friend of mine has a DD studying that at Wollongong and she is FT on campus and they were all peeved to find out they changed the course structure so it added another few years onto their degrees.

Luckily I only need 1 textbook so far and the rest has been electronic and I have a head start on some of the reading because I can access it already. Which is good because it aint exactly light reading LOL

Anna - can you tell me more about the degree you are doing? How does that work? Is it distance ed?

I'm doing the Bachelor of Education (Primary) through UNE. Can't wait for it to start. Ordered all textbooks, just waiting for them to come.

Its not distance ed Jadeh. Uni of Tasmania has a campus attached to St Vincents Hospital at Darlinghurst; and one over at Rozelle. The course is 60 students per year (mature age and HSC grads). It started in 2006. They run the same course in Tasmania along with the usual 3yr degree. I stumbled across it by chance last august and applied for fun. Ended up getting a rather short notice call up to sit testing; then nearly missed it because I couldnt find childcare, then the cosmic universe stepped in and I ended up sitting it on a different day. Was stoked to get that far then nearly died of shock when the very next day I got an offer! Was meant to be and will fulfil a life long dream but its nerve wracking..........I never intended to study until the boys were in primary school and I keep thinking Im insane for taking it on. The reason its 2yr fast track is bec ause we have winter/summer session instead of holidays. So all going well I should graduate as an RN March 2012 when my youngest is 3.

Then I go insane again by hopefully doing my 12mth midwifery diploma

Speaking of my textbooks I really need to get a move on with getting mine. Luckily only one unit has a required text the rest are all recommended.

ETA - Ez; did you have to waitlist bub for the FDC? Ive hopefully got spaces at the centre next to the shops but have to double check it tomorrow otherwise will have to pinch pennies and hire a nanny, waitlist them at every daycare round here and hopefully have 4 days spot available for each by July.

Nope no wait we got the days we needed with the carer we wanted (my friends kids are there too) The one next to shops I've heard is hard to get into so that's great! It would be nice and convienent for us...we live right behind it!! So if u ever need the boys picked up I can help out.

I haven't even been able to enrol in any subjuects yet!! Better follow it up.

You are doing EDLT115 as well? I haven't got the textbooks yet because they had a system failure so I had to phone the order though the other day and I'm working my way through the eReserve readings

    Hi All,

Thought I might join in. Whilst I've completed my degree, I need to get prac hours under my belt again before I can actually practice as a Speech Pathologist. So I will be doing that and some distance ed subjects as well.

I'm looking forward to giving everyone support and rev up when they need to do their reading!

Sooooooo how long do we have before semester starts (for those not studying distance)?

My uni orientaton is next monday *eek* Then Uni Prep course from Tues-Fri, then classes start the following Tues. My schedule is now tues-wed-thur 2 short days 1 long day. Kids are settled into daycare; I still have two textbooks to get and I havent even begun to buy anything school-related like books or pens or anything lol

Im quietly freaking out, this is such a big deal and its been such an important thing in my life for so long but only as a thought or plan not actually a reality...........
