Recs for knitted shortie/longie patterns?

My auntie has offered to make things for the new bub and I thought it would be a great chance to try some shorties.

Can anyone recommend some good patterns (free or otherwise) for a newborn/small size?

I don't think they need to be easy as she's been knitting for years.

Is it better to have elastic or drawstring waist?

It's a while wince I have read through that thread but it should give some other useful tips too.

How exciting that you have womeone knit for you - I have to do all my own which doesn't work so well in 38 degree heat!
