Hi,
last week I watched a small segment of one of the morning shows. I think it might have been channel 9 or maybe 10? They had a lady in who prepared healthy treats. One of them were raw chocolate truffles. As far as I can remember, she said 1 cup of chopped dates, 1 cup of chopped walnuts and 1/4 cup of cocoa powder and that was it (can roll in more cocoa, chopped nuts or dessicated coconut). She did say something about using a certain type of date which she said was moister and worked better than the one she was using on the show.

Well, I'm not sure whether I got the recipe correctly, but I tried it out tonight. It was a little dry and hard to form balls with, but the flavour was pretty good. Not overly sweet, a little bitter from the cocoa. A bit like using dark chocolate - a more grown-up flavour. Seeing how they're pack with goodness, this might be a really great snack to have when you get a sweet tooth.

I would love to know if anyone saw the show and can tell me the correct recipe and what kind of date she said to use. I gather she might be using the ones from the fruit and veg section rather than the dried packaged ones?

Cheers, Sasa
