walking down the isle song? Fairytale from the Shrek movie - we had a cello and violin duo and it sounded soooo romantic
signing the certificate song? A Whole New World from Aladdin and Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King played by the duo again
what was your bridal waltz song? Angels by Robbie Williams

We chose a string duo to play at the ceremony just to add a touch of class and the music just sounded so beautiful. I always wanted Fairytale from Shrek and so I chose the other songs as they fitted in nicely all being from animated movies.

Angels, we just both loved the song and thought it would be a good one for the bridal dance. I wanted to have Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler but DH wasn't toooo keen on that so we had it in our leaving songs.

Wow 29 days away! Good luck and hope it all goes wonderfully well for you!! I agonised for weeks over the tunes for our wedding and ceremony as we are such big music fans so I can clearly remember what you must be going through now!!

walking down the isle song? that trusty ol' favourite Pachelbel's Canon

signing the certificate song? Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel K

what was your bridal waltz song? Dance Me to the End of Love by Eric Bibb

Dance Me to the End of Love is such a beautiful song, written by Eric for his son's wedding dance. I was so fortunate to see Eric play a few weeks before the wedding when he was on tour and when I met him after the show I told him we were dancing to it in a few weeks time and he took my hand so warmly and wished us love and blessings for our marriage and future together. It just made it all the more special as I am such a huge fan of his!

We were married 1st Sept.....didn't even realise it was the first day of Spring, just thought it would be an easy date for DH to remember over the years lol

Walking down the aisle song? That's All - Michael Buble

I agonised for aaaages over my song, I kept changing it. Then one night/early morning I found my Michael Buble CD, decided to upload it to iTunes... And remembered how awesome and sweet this song is We played the majority of the song, my bridesmaids walked down during the instrumental bridge bit, and I went at "If you're wondering what I'm asking..." - Timed it perfectly because the song finished as I met Scott at the bottom

Signing the certificate song? Can you feel the love tonight? - John Barrowman

I love Disney songs lol... And John Barrowman has such a beautiful voice (let's not forget that face either!)

What was your bridal waltz song? Angels - John Farnham

This has been "our song" since we were... 18? We both love John Farnham, and again, it's such a sweet song. It wasn't even a choice, there was never any question that this would be our first dance. We had it professionally choreographed too, so it was heaps of fun. Once we get our wedding video, I'll try to find a way to put it on facebook to show it off

    Other notable songs:
Recessional: Another One Bites The Dust - Queen

I thought it would be funny, Scott agreed After the ceremony, a lot of people were in tears (score!) so it really broke that and put it in people's heads "now, we party!"

Bridal party entrance Song 3 - Blur

I loved the idea of everyone walking in to "WOOO HOOO!"

Daddy/daughter dance I Loved Her First - Lonestar / Butterfly Kisses - Bob Carlisle

"I loved her first" Scott and I danced to while dad looked on (if you don't know the song, it's sung from the father's perspective to his new son-in-law), and then dad got me for "Butterfly Kisses" - he's said since I was a little girl that we'd dance to it at my wedding.

Leaving reception Touch of Paradise - John Farnham

I've always seen this as such a relaxing song, it just fit perfectly. It was chosen about a year in advance (if not more) but it took on even more meaning when it was used at my nan's funeral 3 months prior to the wedding.

Bubs is kicking really hard now, so I have to move, but I may be back to add more (it was a very music-driven event )

We had a very very simple wedding (as i was 39 weeks pregnant at the time! ) so we only had one song and you have probably only heard it if you listen to JJJ...

    Little Birdy: Brother

It was the PERFECT song for us and meant so much. It will be on youtube...

Goodluck with your wedding!!! Congratulations in advance! x

walking down the isle song? Yep Pachabelles cannon in D - heard a very funky version of this the other day which broke out into a rock song after the first few chords!

signing the certificate song? We had a church wedding so our parish band/choir sung hyms during the rest of the wedding. "Will you love me" and another one I can never remeber the name of
what was your bridal waltz song?
At Last by Etta James, our reception was all blues and 1950's Jazz, Harry Connick, Frank Sinartra type stuff to fit in with the feel/mood that we wanted to set which was just a cool, elegent, relaxed affair.

Good luck with your wedding I'm sure it will go beautifully. Something someone told me when i was getting married was to remember although it is only one day it is a very importatn day that you will remember for the rest of your life. But make sure your memories aren't about the weather, or if the flowers were the right colour or if aunty Jo got drunk and fell on the cake - the importatn part is committing yourself to your partner, that moment when you lock eyes and when you are "offically" married - they are the important parts. Soak it up and enjoy sharing that moment with your family and friends!!! I found that very useful when the usual "disasters" happened on the day :-)

Mine are a little bit different

Walking down the aisle: Shania Twain You're still the One

Certificate : Forever and Ever Amen - Randy Travis and Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol ( we had 2 in case 1 wasn't long enough)

Recessional: Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve (My favourite, I had to put it in somewhere)

walking down the isle song? I'm Yours - Jason Mraz (acoustic version)
Why? My DH & I have always said to each other "I am yours", and it stems from a slightly (lots!) drunken evening when I decided he could have me & heart to do with what he willed, and I would trust that we was never going to hurt me. Those words mean more to me that 'I love you'. When the song came out, we just knew it was the right one for us. It took me months before I could hear this song without tears of happiness.

signing the certificate song? The 'A Funk Odyssey' album - Jamiroquai
Why? Wanted something funky to start the party.

what was your bridal waltz song? At Last - Etta James
Why? we needed something! any the lyrics are just beautiful. I have 20 more weeks to learn them all & sing them to my baby when he's born.

Bridal Entrance? Starlight - The Superman Lovers
Why? I love this song & it always sets the mood for a fun night.

    Cake cutting? Can't remember!

Exit song? Good Riddance - Green Day, & Going North - Missy Higgins
Why? Well - who doesn't have Good Riddance for their exit song these days?? And DH loves that song. And as for Missy Higgins... we were heading off to our honeymoon in Broome & Exmouth - North! And the song is just beautiful.
Best of luck for what I'm certain will be a wonderful day.

    Walking down the isle song:

-> bridesmaids walked down to traditional "Pachelbels Canon in D" as I love that song, it's so pretty. I wanted to use the techno version of this song but decided against it

-> I walked down the isle to Queen's version of the Wedding March. It's the same tune but very guitary (you can listen on YouTube). Everyone laughed and it made it more fun and less traditional

-> Our recessional was Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called love". It went nicely with our Queen entrance song.

    Signing the certificate song:
-> We did this while everyone was having refreshments so there was no song. It was just us, our two witnesses and the JP

    Bridal waltz song:

-> "I can't believe You're in love With Me". I'm not sure who wrote this song as there are a lot of people who sing it but it was the Ray Condo version we liked and used.

Walking down the aisle: Heather Nova Doubled up in Love
Signing the Register: Nick Caves Into my arms (just had to put it on now to listen "sigh")
Wedding Shuffle: Nat King Coles Fascination
Leaving song: I can't remember, didn't have much to eat and a little too much to drink

It was funny as we wanted a DJ and DH and I were into the local pub bands at the time and the DJ didn't have any of them..funny that! DH would have loved having some Billy Bragg playing!

My Brother and SIL had Jim Croaches Time in a Bottle for their wedding video..a beautiful song!

    soon to be somewhere exotic

Walking down the isle - You Say Nothing At All - Rohan Keating
Bridal Waltz - Truely Madly Deeply - Savage Garden (which xh sang to me while we danced)

He basically picked the songs. I can now actually listen to them and not want to throw up - but then again I don't listen to commercial radio so I rarely hear them - except the first song ruined watching Notting Hill for me for a while.

This next time round .... depends on the wedding theme

Walking down the aisle Song: At Last by Ella Fitzgerald (got married in a park and had a really really long aisle)
End of ceremony/Signing Song: You never can tell by Bob Seger (I think, we had a playlist and I think that one happened to come on first, it was pretty funny though)
Wedding Dance: Feeling good by Nina Simone, we'd gotten a choreographer and worked out a dance for this song, we did lifts and everything, it was awesome! Michael Buble does a really good version of this song too.
Reception: Playlist with not very serious songs, lots of Cake, bit of Pink, lots of old school Pop and Soul.

I miss my wedding day now, sigh

Ah, this brings back memories! DH and I were married in a catholic cathedral ('06), so our music had to be "in line" with church protocol. Having said that, we hired a fab brass quintet which sounded absolutely fantastic ...

Walking down the aisle - Pachelbel's Canon in D (... a popular choice, it seems!)
Signing marriage certificate - Ave Maria
Recessional - Water Music Suite (Handel) - I adore this piece of music!
Bridal Waltz - How Do I Live, Trisha Yearwood

Can't remember most of the songs we picked for our reception other than "At Last" which immediately followed the bridal waltz and "The Way You Look Tonight". We had "Good Riddance: Time of Your Life" by Green Day as we farewelled everyone at the end of our reception. We kinda hoped not too many people knew the correct title cos we didn't pick the song to be cheeky!

I was a bit obsessed about the music at our reception, cos I'd been to a wedding not long before ours and the reception music was dreadful - the music choices were left up the DJ and he killed the dance floor time and time again with one decent song (which got everyone up), then a shocker (from heavy metal to tacky early 90s "dance" music that died a quick death a decade ago!). I made sure we chose a DJ who would play OUR choices ... and I'm proud to say lots of people got up and danced the night away at our reception!!

Have fun - it's an exciting time
