    Centrelink Help - Fringe Benefits

I'm hoping someone can help with info abt fringe benefits, i've been googling but am so confused about it

My DF gets fringe benefits from work but it doesnt go on his paycheck each fortnight... Do i tell centrelink the gross amount on his paycheck, then plus his fringe benefits??? or do i just tell them his gross amount on paycheck which doesnt include the fringe benefits
We have declared $15,000 fringe benefits in our yearly estimates but just not sure if we need to tell them fortnightly

    Thanks in adance

are you only receiving FTB? if you are, you only need to estimate your annual GROSSED UP amount of Fringe Benefits

We have to do it too and I just tell them the amount that we get in fringe benefits and you do get a bit of it offset anyway before it starts to count as income.

I get abit of parent payment partnered or whatever it is called also... so does that mean i need to include that with his income when i declare it fortnightly??? the fringe benefits is so confusing to me...
(just incase you say yes lol do i do it like this... gross income on payslip... plus work out the fringe benefits he gets each fortnight then put that in the income section of centrelink??? Is that right)
the $15,000 is the grossed up amount

my brain isn't totally functioning right so i can't recall (12 months off work will mess with your head) - have your figures handy when you ring to report (so the payslip amount and the fbt seperately) and confirm with the person you are speaking to. i don't think it gets reported if it doesn't appear on your payslip but i don't have access to the stuff i would at work to confirm (hope that makes sense)

Thanks for your help BG i was hoping you would be around lol... I report online (which only has a box for income not a seperate one for fringe benefits) so i'll give them a call tomorrow to ask them about it... we just dont want to end up with a huge bill if we do something wrong

its all so confusing.. i hope i feel better about it tomorrow

    Did you resolve Fringe bennefits

I have just been reading an searching the internef im in the same boat u were in a year ago, just wondering if u sorted out what to report as far as the fringe bennefits for parenting payments. Ive spoken 2 centerlink 10 times an get an answer that is different every time. One guy said i only need 2 report 48.5 percent of the fortnightly fringe bennifit an he wanted to know if it was gross of net. I tried 2 call back 2 say gross but no one knows any things. Any info would be really appriciated!! Thanks

you need to report your gross income - so what you earn before anything is deducted.

so if you ear $20 an hour, but they take x amount of that for fbt, y amount for tax, you still report the $20 per hour for parenting payment purposes

for family tax benefit, you need to report the total gross VALUE of the FBT annually - the system then calculates the amount that is included as income (something like 51.5 or 53.5%)

    Red face All sorted

Thank you for such a quick reply, I've sorted it all out with centerlink. I dont qualify 4 parenting partnered payment which sucks but at least it's all right an I'm not getting over paid which would be worse. thank you
