26 months seems to be my limit!

Well, DD is aaaalmost weaned, and I guess it's been on my part more than hers, but she's not that upset about it. Funny that it's 26 months tho.. the same as DS! It's like we come to a mutual agreement that yep, that's probably enough now. DS didn't bat an eyelid.. I just told him it was making mummy sore (which it was... he had somehow lost the knack!). DD has cried a couple of times.. but usually only if she wants it through the night and can't have it. We do have the occasional feed still before sleep if I feel generous LOL.. but they are phasing out now.

DD night fed a LOT up until she was 24 mths.. and since she turned 2 I've become much more strict on the night feeds.. and as predicted.. it's quickly led to full weaning. This was the main reason I didn't night wean her earlier, coz I wanted us to get to 2yrs and most of her feeds were at night. Day feeds have been hit & miss for a while.

So anyway... my boobs are about to get a rest after nearly 4 years of feeding (started feeding DS in March 2006, tandem fed with DD for 7 months, and continued feeding DD until now) Hopefully we have a few more good years of milk production ahead if we are successful conceiving a 3rd bub

I feel kind of sad and glad all at the same time.

Wow Liz, you are an inspiration. Sorry your time has come to an end, but I hope that you are back feeding again soon. xo

Liz that is a seriously cool limit. Hugs to you as you end this chapter, but like Ruf I hope a similar chapter begins for you soon. xo

    Hey Liz

I can so relate to many of the feelings you have right now!
You have done brilliantly. Especially continuing night feeds for so long..that's a huge effort!!

    Enjoy the break!
    Great work boobies!

Well done, Liz, on your successful bfing journey!! You're the only one of my pg buddies who has continued to bf for the same amount of time (and you even went through a 2nd pg and tandem feeding - I take my hat off to you!). While my DD (although nearly four) is still bfing once a day I have noticed them getting shorter and more for comfort than anything. I feel we're steadily moving down the weaning path too now.

Here's hoping the milk production break is only for a short time! GL TTC.
