Green stringy poo in baby on exclusive EMB

Help! My four month old baby girl has just had an episode of green stringy poo in her nappy (which had quite a bit of straining before it came out - sorry if TMI) It is the first time I have seen anything like it in her nappy. She has also had 3 poos in last 24 hours which is more than her usual 1 poo every 1-2 days. She is only having exprsessed breast milk. Is this anything to worry about? - she has been a bit clingy in last couple of days as well and not eating well (but this is an ongoing problem)

My DS had exactly the same thing for a few days at about the same age. Is she drooling a lot? His issues seemed to stem from swallowing lots of drool? His poor little bottom got very red and sore (something to watch for). I have now idea what caused it - it went away on its own after a few days. hope she is feeling better soon

Thanks ControlFreak - yes she is drooling a lot and sucking everything in last week or two so maybe that is it - nice to know someone else has seen this! Thanks again

Green poo is quite normal, as is mucousy/slimy stuff. It's also normal for breastfeed babies to poo a lot in the first few months (at that age DS still pooed 4-5 times a day). Are there any other issues you're concerned about? If all else seems well, it's probably nothing to worry about.

    Teething could be a possibility!

Could she possibly be getting mainly the fore milk????

I know when I expressed I usually mainly got the fore milk, this could be the reason for the green poos, not enough hind milk, may also be the reason she has been not herself.
