    make-up

If you wanted to get your colours done or needed advice on what colour lipstick, blush etc to wear would you go to a beautician or say to Myers make-up counter?

Just wondering whether the colours I used to wear are still ok for me as I'm getting older lol

    Thanks futuremum

Some beauticians and make up artists offer appointments where they teach you how to apply your makeup, so I guess they'd talk colours at the same time. That'd be a fantastic opportunity to get some great tips. I'd ask around for someone with a good rep.

Oooh, I'd go Myer's or DJ's if you have one. And pick a brand you like, as they would do it for you and you could then decide later if you like it.

I'd go to Mecca Cosmetica, they have a range of brands. For a fee, a MUA will show you how to apply the makeup for an hour and it's redeemable on product. Yes, it's expensive but they write it all down for you and you can buy it cheaper on strawberrynet. Or do what I did, bought a couple of things (I really liked the foundation and blush) and then went to the Body Shop after my makeover and the girls there matched up to what was on my face (like powder and eyeshadow) for a fraction of the price!

I'd go to myer as there is a huge variety there - I would get them to write down what they used and sometimes you can find the same color in a different brand and it may be cheaper for you.

Last time I got mine done was at the bodyshop, I was really happy with it and bought everything they used on me, and brushes, all for under $200
