I've never been so "Mad About You"

Watching re-runs on Foxtel of Mad About You - the episode is about Jamie and Paul trying to get Mabel to fall asleep by herself... and they are doing that by using CC and making 'jokes' about it.

I get it - it is a sit-com - they make light of life... but this - making light of CC.

I am angry that they are making light of CC. At the beginning of the episode Paul was discussing why oh why they should do CC and when he went in after the first interval his verbal comments to Mabel were about why they were doing this and his answer was because "a sadistic man from XXX University says we have to... that has been the only part of the episode I have laughed at yet. The rest has made me cringe and get teary.

Argh... I know it is a recording of a baby crying... still isn't helping me and how I feel about it.

I am getting anxious about what the end of the episode is going to be... will they show CC working... I sincerely hope not.

Oh well not so fussed on the ending... they finally agree that CC is not for them and then just as they decide to go in there and pick her up and comfort her - Mabel falls asleep.

Jamie states she wants to go in there - Paul says no, she is asleep, they don't want to wake her - then the real tear jerker for me... Jamie kind of breaks down and says "we broke her heart, now she knows we won't always be there for her" Paul says "that is a good thing, isn't it?" and then there is a pause and Jamie says "turn back the clock"

Not a great ending... because some person out there will see it and say - but the baby did fall asleep

I don't think a TV show as ever got me this angry inside

I know how you feel.
We are watching a show that we dowl load called Modern Familiy. Its a comedy and it is very very funny, BUT there is a gay couple that adopted a baby form china (all cool) and they are doing what they call CC - and the poor baby is screaming and screaming and they show the poor bub in her cot and she was visably upset and crying and then they cut to the the parents and one guy is wanting to go in and comfort her and the other will not let him - the ep had me in tears and just threngthened the view as to why I would NEVER CC!
If the end the partner wins and goes and picks her up and she goes straight to sleep = but the ep certainly left a nasty taste in my mouth!

So sad.....even though it s aTV show it still made me sad for the baby
Why oh why cant we just LOVE our babies....they come first in my eyes...nothing is more important than them and being loved.
