I just posted a thread in the chidcare section but i thought i might pose a similar question here....
my daycare has recently advised parents that the "government" has advised them to no longer offer 50% fee reduction for holidays (due to CCB/CCTR) and instead are dropping the fee by $4 a day....
my question is....who would have passed down this decision....would it be FAO....or could this be a load of @#$# that my centre is trying to pass off so that parents pay full fees.....i am not eligible for CCB so i pay full fees every day!!
any help would be appreciated.....then i might make a phone call... or two...
I wouldn't imagine it would be FAO as they aren't responsible for child care fees, legislation etc. I would be talking to your director about who is responsible, I can't remember if it's state or federal government.
hun, you're lucky to have been getting fee reduction in the past as this is not what is supposed to happen for CCB - you are only supposed to receive reduction for the actual hours your child is in care - so if your centre has you paying for a 10 hour day, and you only put your kidlet in for 5, you're supposed to pay full fees for the balance of the day. i don't know of any child care centres that do this though. have not come across one at all
you have allowable absences where CCB is still paid, but these are a limited number (can't recall off the top of my head how many) and are based on certain circumstances (generally illness of the child, or if the child is not immunised and there is an outbreak and the parents opt to not send the child). as was mentioned in the other thread, you're supposed to pay full fees for days not used
