I am wondering where i can find one for DS's bedroom. I'm thinking one of those or maybe attaching wire/string to hang things from. What works best? Or what do you use to display artwork?
There are lots of websites that sell them, I know a shop in Adelaide that has them & will post. They are expensive though. I myself would just make something.
My sister made me one by painting some timber white, she attached some wire so it hangs kind of like a picutre frame & used a hot glue gun to stick on novelty pegs. I've also bought more novelty pegs & hung some picture frame wire on my wall in the toy room so I can hang artwork.
TBH, a lot of the ones I have seen in the shops don't look like they cost much more than $10 to make despite their hefty price tag so if you do it yourself at least you know it's not going to fall apart on you.
We got one at some markets on the Sunshine Coast so your local craft markets may have someone who is very artistic and does them too. My MIL then made another one just like Erin described.
I have seen some at Howards Storage World but they are $20+
I've also made "picture boards" using canvas with ribbon & buttons. Great for displaying stuff also. If you google Kidzone you can see the boards they have, they are just canvas & very $$$ for what they are.
We brought one at a market in Geelong. It would be pretty easy to make. Ours is just painted blue and has "Look what I did today" with a piece of craft string glued across it and little tiny pegs to hold the artwork in place. DS loves his - everytime his grandparents come over, he has to show them what is hanging on it. Making your own would be great, you could really personalise it.
I've been thinking of stringing up a wire, at IKEA you can get a wire (with all the hook stuff), it's actually a curtain wire for roughly $12 I think? And it's 3m long. But being a stronger curtain wire means model stuff like paper planes or whatever can hang up too.
