Question Wangaratta accomodation recommondations please .........

    Hi all,

My sister after her having to battle breast cancer up until last year has still managed to have her artwork be part of an art exhibition in Wangaratta (Vic) on Sat 27th of Feb.

I really want to go to support her (she has had many exhibits but i haven't yet been to one of her's) ... so, DP & i thought we would make a weekend of it with our DD and stay accommodation in Wangaratta

Can anyone here recommend somewhere ** nice ** to stay there ???

    TIA for any replies

i usually stay with family when i go to Wang but one weekend had to stay in a motel there. was a Best Western or something like that. can picture it in my head, but no idea what the name is!

i would scope out wotif and see what is on there - i just had a quick look and there are some decent looking apartments that would be pretty good if you were wanting to have DD in her own room or were wanting to sleep extras in town

Wow, great minds think alike Lee ... would you believe i was checking out the Wotif site just before i put on this thread (gotta love my spelling on the title, well it was late ... lol ) ... Wotif we have used heaps for accom in the past !! Yeh, and remember there being a Great Western and do remember thinking the apartments looked ok (so hard to reply on those net pics isn't it).

Thanks Lee, might go through there if no one here on BB comes through here with anymore recommendations before then

My mum recently stayed at Parkview Motor Inn, and she was quite impressed actually. The rooms at the back are really quiet, which was very important to her (she is a light sleeper)

Depending on what night of the week you would be staying would depend on what motel I would recommend. If Fri or Sat night, the pubs close at 3-5am all the young ones walk from the pubs to Maccas.. and it can be very very noisy!!

Feel free to PM me if you have somewhere in mind.

At a guess I would probaby say it was the Gateway Wangaratta, thats probaby the most modern of all of the motels in Wangaratta. Also had renovations not all that long ago.
