Could my dreams mean my baby is a girl?

Does anyone get any feeling from these dreams?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with my first child, we decided not to find out the sex, but a couple of weeks ago I had two very vivid dreams, within a few days of each other, that I had my baby and it was a girl. Up until that point I had no kind of 'feeling' or 'intuition' about whether it was a boy or girl, but a few people I know think it is a boy - although I'm not sure what they're basing it on!

The first dream, I 'experienced' labour, and afterwards was looking down at my baby girl, I could see her so clearly, she had fair skin, dark hair and blue eyes. She was chubby. I felt so much love for her straight away, it was such strong feeling for a dream.

The second dream was not quite as nice, I dreamt I had the baby prematurely, it was a girl again, but I was having lots of trouble feeding her, and was upset that I couldn't breastfeed her.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this at all? I only sometimes remember my dreams when I wake up, and never so clearly, and I still remember them both even weeks afterwards. They've been on my mind ever since.

Thanks in advance for any help!

for 3 of my 4 pg's I knew what gender they were from dreams. #3 was the only one I wasn't sure about because I had both boy and girl dreams and I couldn't be sure either way. But with 1, 2 and 4 I only ever dreamt about having a boy or a girl and it was such a strong feeling that I knew I couldn't be wrong, but of course I had think that it could be wrong too kwim. Apparently there is some truth to it too. I remember reading in a magazine that a certain % of women who dream about the gender of their baby get it right I can't remember what the exact figure was now but I thought that was really interesting because maybe dreams are somehow linked to our subconcious and also on a more cellular level to *know* what gender baby we are carrying. I only ever found out with #4 what we were having at the ultrasound too but before the scan I was already having dreams about him. When 1 and 2 were born it was no surprise to me at all what we were having and even when picking names for them, it just didn't feel right to talk about girls names when having DS1 or boys names when having DD1.

sorry im probably not going to be much help but with DD2 i was having very vivid dreams that she was a boy but she turned out to be a girl, I have heard of a lot of people being right from there dreams though I think i read somewhere its a very high percentage (80s or 90s) that what our subconcious dreams is actually true and relevant in some way

My sisters friend studies dreams and she has said that whatever the sex you dream is the opposite to what you have

... when my sis was pregnant i had two very vivid dreams of her child which in the dream was a girl yet she later gave birth to a boy ... and guess what he was the same colouring in my dreams, copper red hair & big brown eyes which neither his parents have and the only difference was the sex

Ooh, interesting, thanks ladies! Quite mixed results there, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see whether my dreams come true.

Trillian - That's amazing that your dreams were right each time! I quite like that theory that we know on a subconscious or cellular level what we are having, it is such a strong connection you have to your baby, I mean, you're sharing your body with them, your food, your blood, everything. Makes sense in a way.

MrsS - lol yeah when I told DF that I had these dreams and how strong the feelings were, he joked, "That probably means it'll be a boy!" I would love it if I was right though, that would feel awesome.

Smiles - That's interesting, I wonder why you would dream the opposite? Seems like Trillian defied that theory!

Minimax - Wow, that's intuitive, you knew before she was even conceived!

I dreamt that I had a girl, I have always dreamed about having a little blonde, blue eyed, chubby girl, since I was about 12 years old, but I "knew " that bub would be a boy, dont know how, I just knew. and he was!
I think my girl is yet to come or I am dreaming of my inner child LOL.
I also had one dream where I had a litter of kittens......

It could just be wishful thinking but I've known a lot of people who had those dreams and they turned out to be right. Are you hoping for a girl?

Up until I was 7 months PG with my DS, I was sure I was having a girl as all my symptoms were the same as my two friends who had girls. Then I had a very vivid dream that I was tucking a 2 yr old little blond-haired blue-eyed boy into bed and he was telling me that he loved me. It made me sooooo happy in the dream and when I woke up I was sure I was having a boy (and I was really excited). I laughed at the blond-hair and blue-eyes part though since DH and I both have dark hair and neither of us has blue eyes. 2 months later and I had a blond-haired blue-eyed little boy and (now that he's 2) he tells me he loves me whenever I tuck him in.

LOL Starrysky. You can probably disregard the litter of kittens dream, quite safely!

Yeah, it's interesting, I've had these dreams about having a girl, and I've been dwelling on them because they were so vivid and strong, but I kind of have this 'feeling' that it is a boy. Maybe I've been influenced by all the other people who think it's a boy, I'm not sure that it is my own intuition talking, iykwim? I don't really think of myself as the type of person who gets 'feelings' etc for things, certainly not the type who gets them right! I totally believe that there are people who are sensitive to these things, I just don't think I'm one of them.

Although (and sorry this is off topic now) I feel that I have a very strong connection with my partner, that goes beyond the physical stuff. We often have the same thoughts at the same time, sometimes I will pick up my phone just seconds before he calls or texts me, like I knew it was going to happen, but not consciously, if that makes sense? But only with him. Lol sorry, I'm just rambling now!

Oh - thanks Twin Sister, I meant to say that. For the most part, I don't mind whether it is a boy or girl, I tell everyone who asks me that. But secretly, privately, I'm hoping for a girl. No particular reason for it, I think all girls want a girl! But maybe this secret wish is coming out in my dreams? I did think that at first. Nawwwww, that's such a nice story about your DS! How sweet.

With my first 3 pregnancies whenever I had a dream about the baby it was always wrapped in a yellow blanket and no one ever said the babies name only said how is baby doing ect.. I never found out with my boys what i was having. As soon as I fell pg with bub 4 I started dreaming of everything pink. I too wondered if it meant I was having a girl or if subconciously I wanted a girl.. Anyways we found out the sex at 32 weeks and sure enough girl..
