Gosh Clare, that is an incredibly unselfish act, how thoughtful and giving.

I really don't know but I'm fairly sure Pivet and Concept take egg donors but you'd need a referral from your GP. So I'm thinking your GP is a good place to start.

    Good luck.

    Hi Clare

I am guessing that one of the fertility clinics would be able to offer you advice on what you would need to do to get the process started. Each state has its own regulations and regulatory authorities that oversee fertility treatment, including egg donation. In WA (from a quick search), the authority is the Reproductive Technology Council -if you go through their website you might find out some info that can help you, or some links to other useful sites.

Even if for some reason you dont, or cant go ahead with your plans, I just wanted to say congrats on being to prepared to give such a wonderful gift to another couple - even considering such a bit step is such unselfish thing to do. Just being prepared to donate, and for having your intentions known, raises the awarness of infertility and the need for egg/sperm donation.

    Good luck

thankyou so much. I was prepared to sit down with DP tonight and discuss it all again, obviously it will have an impact on him as well as our 2 children, and I really dont want to do it until we are finished having our own children, I think we have finished but I need to be sure, unfortunately he is as sick as a dog so wont be happening tonight.

I discussed it with my mum today and she was really positive, and said "so you mean I could have other grandchilden all around the world??, how cool would that be" lol god love her.

I am going to do a ring around on Monday and find out what I need to do.
    thankyou for your help

Claire, there is a great forum you can join. just google aussie egg donors. It is an australian and NZ site with donors and recipients at different stages of the process. ie. people looking for donors/recipients, people currently cycling and parents with donor children. so you can learn lots and be supported all along the way. you have to fill our a form and be approved as it is a private group but it does not take long.

    Hi Clare

Egg donation is an amazing and wonderful thing and I am currently pg from eggs donated by my sister! My sister says it is one of the most valuable things she has ever done and my DH and I are not only grateful but we feel very privelaged to be having a child as a result of her gift.

Like Anney I recommend joining up with Aussie Egg Donors and talking with other donors and recipients to make yourself aware of all the options and issues associated with known or unknown donation.

I did a post a while back that may be of use to you HERE.

Wishing you all the best in your egg donation journey

    xx

Oh my goodness, I am so excited...I just made the call. Sitting here waiting for the nurse to ring me back...I am actually doing this. I shouldn't get too excited just yet, I am a bit worried about the fact that our angel had a chromosomal abnormality, but it wasn't genetic so fingers crossed

    Hi Claire

I live in Perth and am currently at Pivet.

Did you have any luck donating your eggs? I know your post was some time ago but I have just subscribed to BB.

Donating your eggs (I think) is one of the most selfless acts anyone could do. What a precious gift to give someone.....the joy of becoming a mother. I too hope one day that I will be able to have a baby............always hoping.

I have been on the DE waiting list for some time but have been trying with my own eggs and DH sperm in the meantime. I will be starting my 4th IVF/ICSI attempt in May (approx).

If you have donated a huge hug to you..........
