My darling mum was over watching the kids the other day whilst i was out and when i got home she had ironed the girls clothes and even some of mine...now Ive only ironed a few and i mean a few times but it was so nice to put on ironed clothes...they felt all new and Lucy looked so pretty in her ironed dress!!
so wish me luck girls this will be a new experience for everyone in this household

Wow - go for it! Love having nice crisp ironed clothes...

although sometimes it means the clothes are sitting washed, ready for ironing a little longer than they should in my house, LOL!

LOL - I so know what you mean, I love ironed clothes too, but I usually iron 5 seconds before I need something.......its always the last chore on my "TO-DO" list and I never get to it

I might put up the ironing board, plug in the iron and leave our never-empty ironing basket out next time my Mum is over babysitting - PMSL - she 'might' take the hint LOL!!!

I iron alot of our clothes and even though I don't like ironing I love the look of ironed clothes.
I also hate starting but love it when have finished. Nothing better than an empty or near empty basket

Here are some rules I use when I iron:
    1. NEVER iron on a hot day unless standing under the cooler
    2. Always have music or the TV on (takes away the boredom)
    3. Hang the shirts etc up as soon as you have done them (nothing worse than finding then on the floor or have been sat on)
    4. Fold the clothes as you take them off the line, amazing how easy to iron clothes tha don't have many wrinkles to start with.
Have been known to throw something back in the wash when it was so wrinkled it would have taken forever to iron

Funny you mention this....I've just discovered that I actually like ironing. Before I ironed only the very minimal and only right when i needed it.

Like Rivlas I like the telly on and I love the way the empty basket feels.

LOVE it - but you missed one......

    5. Never iron without a glass of wine in hand - THAT will definately make it more fun

LOL! I aimed for that last week but i am too stuffed by the time it comes on. I had the ironing board and iron set up for 6 days with a full basket of clothes ready and had to remove them yesterday as Charlie started crawling.

i had to dust my iron too

ummmm, i know we have two ironing boards - i even know where one is now! and there are three irons somewhere (i think) - but i've been living here since september 05 and haven't ironed anything yet!

you just gotta learn to be picky about what materials you buy - hang everything up as soon as it's washed - and you don't get many crinkles! i have paid for one basket of ironing to be done - and if we have stuff that needs to be done (for a wedding or funeral) i usually send to mum to do -

if i'm really honest though, if i find something that needs to be ironed in my wardrobe, it goes to st vinnies!

must iron some of E's stuff though - maybe i can invite mum for dinner - she gets to play with the poppet and then iron - and i feed her - sounds like a fair exchange!
