    Pollakiuria

    Hi!

I'm not sure if I have posted this in the right place as DS#1 has only JUST turned 4 but it didn't seem appropriate in the baby & toddler section!

Anyway - I think DS#1 may be suffering from Pollakiuria (frquent daytime urination problem)!

The problem has been getting steadily worse with this afternoon being horrible as he has basically spent the whole afternoon on the toilet. When he does finally go to the toilet he only does the tiniest amount and it is very frustrating to him as well as to me.

I took him to the GP this morning and he took a urine sample and will test him for a UTI for sure and many juvenile diabetes as well.

I'm currently trying to entice him / bribe him (have promised him a new Lightning McQueen toy) to get off the toilet and go for a walk but it isn't working.

I did some research online and Pollakiuria is thought to be brought on by stress and DH did start working nights a few weeks ago so there has been a bit of stress for everyone as we adjust to that.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a child go through this and if anyone has suggestions???

Any and all thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I see us being virtually house bound until this clears up.

Don't have any advice but just want to give you , it must be stressful for you. Hopefully the doctor will be able to give you some answers when the test results come back.
