using dylon - wanting block colour not tie dye

I want to dye but not tie dye, just the solid block colour but when I tried following the dylon in-wash directions for navy I ended up with tie dye patterns instead! How do I do just a solid block of colour??? The next time I will hand dye using the pretty colours that I have of dylon dyes so suggestions for that are appreciated!

Do it in a bucket - the smaller the vessel, the mor you will be concentrating your dye. Keep it in for as long as the instructions say, and move it around a lot in that time to make it evenly disperse. For a dark colour, you may need to do it twice if you are dyeing from a light colour.

Also, dye-ability of fabric will depend on the fibre it's made of and will affect your result.

    BBL with more.

I've never managed to get a block colour from using the in wash method, try it in a bucket or the laundry sink.

I have had very successful results using those dyes with hot water in my washing machine. I've used Dylon before but have had better luck with RIT.
