ok so i have an old credit card bill for just over 4 thousand

i made an arrangement with the collection agency it went to to pay 100 per month which i was doing but i didnt realise i missed one payment in November

so anyway i got a letter from a lawyer /court wanting the money or they will take me to court . i called them up and asked them if they would see if they could make an arrangment with the credit card company fort me to pay 3000 of the 4200 that i owed them , ( there is also like 700 bucks court fees they added) but they said no to that and wanted it all , i borrowed 3800 from my mum which she doesnt even have to give but she did , i payed them that and now they want to know how and when i will be able to pay the 997 left owing .

i got the feeling from the lawyer that he knows its under a grand not much money and they prob wont take me to court for it ?

what do u think? we dont have the money we have so many bills one low income we can hardly manage to eat as it is.

can they force me to pay it? what can they do considering its under 1000 owing ?
