Question Adoption service for retiring elderly

I am sure I have heard of such a service and would appreciate some info if anyone knows anything about it.
I have and elderly friend who is going away on holidays for 3 months then is moving into a retirement village. She has 4 cats (yes that's right 4) and she desperately wants to find good homes for them.

    xx

I haven't heard of anything like that but it's a great idea.

DH's grandmother has no option but to put her cat down when she moves into a retirement village, he's 15 years old and has arthritis but he's still fit and well and nowhere near ready to go just yet. An adoption would be a much better option in her situation.

If you find an agency can you please let me know?

Tinks that is so sad I know one of her cats is quite old, but he is a birman, so it may be an advantage.

Heys, there's a group called TARS (the animal rehoming service) that will help.

    Just google TARS

    Hi Tanya,

No luck with my friend actually, this time around she got hers from her sister (who is a vet nurse and felt sorry for one of the cats.) The only other time was a place when she was living in the UK.

I did do a search though and came up the following all based in Victoria, all of which have websites:

    Ingrids Haven
    Australian Animal Protection Society
    Pet Rescue
    The Cat Corner
    Cat Protection Society of Victoria

There are plenty more, but this should be a good start.
