what name do you like best.

having a baby boy in 5 weeks time and me and dh have two names we really like but can't decide which one we like the best. So just wanted to see what others think. we like brock edward or joshua edward. The name we can't decide on is the first name. Edward will be the middle name which is after my pop who died in december last year. So the question is which one you like best.

    I like Joshua best.

Have you considered having Edward as the first name instead? I believe it's had a resurgence in popularity after the whole Twilight thing.

I was going to suggest Edward first as well. I love it!

I went to primary school with a Brock who was very naughty but cute!

Joshua is quite a popular name and as a teacher I see a lot of them at school so its up to you if you like common names or not.

    GL with your decision.

Yep, Joshua. Brock's too much of a "modern" type name, and makes the Edward look out of place and awkward.

Brock goes better with Tyler, I think.

    Joshua is best

Brock is too new a name and Edward is a classic old name.

How about Edward as a first name as not as popular as Joshua

I love Edward as a first name. My DS1 has Edward as his middle name and I wish I was courageous enough to have named him Edward back then... Eddie is soooooooooooo cute!

But I do love Joshua Edward best out of the names you have.

I'd prefer Joshua over Brock - but in the end, it's your decision, so good luck!

Going against the grain - Brock. Much less common & I love the sound of it. I don't think it's too new a name. I've known 2 Brock's both were my age (29) & both were very nice.

    I love Edward too.

    I like Joshua too
I agree with the other girls in terms of Brock being a ''newish'' name, and Edward being older/more traditional.

And i really like Joshua shortened to Josh as well

I prefer Joshua over Brock (Tobias was very nearly Joshua!)
But I prefer Edward as the first name, I think it goes well with Tyler & I also just like the name. I have a cousin Edward but we call him Eddie
It's up to you, they're all good names

Oh my goodness Shazza, I haven't seen you around here since TTC buddies, I can't believe you've only got 5 weeks to go!! How exciting!

Joshua Edward goes really nice together. I do love the name Brock as that is my gorgeous nephew's name (Joshua is DH's name too! hehehe), but I do think Joshua Edward goes a lot better together and it sounds beautifully traditional and strong.

I hope all goes well and I wish you the very best for your pending birth.
    Take care
