What clothes detergent do you use?

I have been using 'Hurricane' brand of washing liquid for our clothes for years. Simply because it was a fairly cheap brand for what we got. Smelled ok, washes ok. Slowly over the years it has been getting more and more exxy. Recently it has gotten really exxy ($8/$9 for 2L) and less in the bottle (used to be 2.5 L). So I have been looking for something cheaper for a decent amount.
So what do you use? Is it good for the quality of what you get? Even if it's a powder, I'm willing to try it!! BTW-We have a top loader.

I use the Planet Ark Aware washing powder. Does a pretty good job, I'm happy with it! It's only about $5-6 for a 1kg box, which is not bad in comparison to some of the more mainstream powders.

I use either Omo, Radiant or Bio Zet depending on what's on sale because they're the only ones I'm not allergic to.

I use Bi-Carb for everything except DH's work clothes (coz they like them to smell like washing powder ). I use a tablespoon in my FL so maybe 1 and a half?

I use the planet ark aware as well. I find it reall good, and lasts ages because you only use 1 tbsp at a time. Best of all it is good for the environment.

We use Amolin laundry liquid - I think it's over $4 for 1.25l.
I started using it originally because I was reacting to other washing powders/liquids. Haven't had any trouble since & I love the smell!!

I've been making my own, which is really easy and soooo much cheaper. I also react to a lot of the powders and could only use cold power. The powder has bicarb, washing soda, soap flakes and borax. Just a tablespoon in each wash, and nappisan in the really grubby washes and that is all I need.
