Legal working age?

DS is so keen to find a part time job, he said he can work at 14yrs and 9mths, does anyone know if this is true? Thanks.

DD started at Maccas when she was 14 and 2 months cause i signed a letter giving her permission to start before 14 and 9 months. She has had a really good experience with Maccas and is nearly a manager now and will continue there through uni.

We were told 14 & 9 mths but a lot of employers have told DD they will not take her until she is 15. Makes it a bit confusing
