Or do you intend to move in the future at some point?
I was wondering how many families are happy with whee they are now..... location wise, affordibilty wise and for their future ( including more children , more room etc)
We definately need to move eventually and find a great family home. We are in a townhouse atm. Nice but not enough room and I hate the area.
We love the area we live in and built our house in a great spot, we also built the house with enough space to accommodate 3 kids (4 if need be) so we wont 'have to' move for a very long time. I would only consider moving to an equally beautiful place where you can get more for your money in the property market and dh got a better job where I didn't have to work ever again... mind you in a few years I wont have to work ever again where we live now so I don't think we will be moving... Maybe we will move onto accerage one day but when we can afford a gardener, lawn mowing man and pool man
No I don't want to be living here forever and we never planned to. This place was just brought because we needed somewhere to live as we were living with family for about 18mths before we brought our unit and it was soooo stressful!! We are actually moving in a few months, but that move is only temporary too, for about 4ish years, and THEN we will be getting the place we will plan on living in long term. We might be having another bub soon, so we definately need a place bigger than a 2br unit!! Plus I just don't like the area we live in. I can't wait to move into a house!!
we had a 5 year plan when we moved here and bought our house we justified buying by saying we would stay put 5 yrs well april 5 is 10 years we have been here I can't see us going anywhere yeah its not the greatest place int he world but we love 2 hrs from my folks 2 hrs from jases so far enough away but close enough as well... job wise would never earn the $$ on the coast ...cost of living well we travel 64km to go to woolies, if we want to do a big shop as we only have a IGA but they aren't to bad for everyday stuff.. only draw back is the health system we haven't had a permanent dr since 2006... nefore that it was fine... the hosp isn't set up for much..no maternity, no surgical... basically just a after hrs drs clinic now...
I would like to move before th eboys go to highschool just for the chance of better curriculum that being said each year for the last 5 I beelive there have been at least 2 OP 1 at the school here so can't be too bad
Last year we sold our 2 x 2 7th floor unit in the city and bought a 4 x 2 house in the burbs. Everyone told us we were nuts because we didn't have kids, didn't need a big house etc etc etc. We both, however, moved around alot with our families when young, and wanted to pick 'the' spot/house and really lay down our roots. Plus we needed some space! Apartment living was great and convenient but we were over it. The property market at the time did act as a catalyst too so there were several contributing factors.
We are really happy with our house and yard, the local schools (at the moment anyways - who knows what they'll be like when our chn go to them) and can see ourselves here for the very long term. Yes we need to update/renovate different areas etc but it's all fine to live in now and we have a long term vision for the house and yard over the next 5ish years.
We are aware things could change, or don't always go according to plan, but I love sitting back with DH and us both feeling that this is home for good
I don't know how long we will be here, but I'm sure we can't stay forever...at least not if we ever want to buy, we can't afford it.
If we won lotto... I still wouldn't stay I wouldn't go far, mind you, just somewhere with a bit of room to have some chooks & a goat maybe.... I love the Tallebudgera Valley, it is so beautiful but just a dream for us sadly...
I would like to go south when the kids are older, maybe to the mid-NSW coast.
In the meantime we are just...sitting...
Nope. We're a bit nomadic, we can settle down when we decide it's time, but at this stage, it's not going to be here.
I think we're planning to rent for a long long time, if not forever.
Yeah, we're here for the long haul, well at least until the kids are through highschool. We bought a big block in a good area, with a decent, but smallish house on it. I keep thinking that in 20 years, we can knock the house down, build three units on the block, sell them off & be laughing. That's my current plan, it changes all the time!
We will never move, I was brought up in this house, moved out when I married and moved back when my dad passed away. Now we are bringing up our kids here, this house is too special for me to ever leave. The area is lovely and quiet, close to schools, shops and beach.
We have lived in this house since 1997. I can't imagine living anywhere else. We are even looking into renovating this house so we can stay here longer. '
When we retire Dh and I are planning on Travelling so who knows where we will end up living but
We are setting ourselves up for the long haul, but saying that we will always consider any serious option to move. We just do not know what the future holds, DH could get offered a very good job which means moving or a much better property here could come up for sale.
