    Possible allergic reaction?

I was wondering if someone could help me out.

I think my 20month old DS might be having an alergic reaction to something.

This is the second time it has happened. Last Friday he was eating a sao cracker with the new vegemite on it (you know the cream cheese/vegemite one) he has had both of these foods before but after this time he came out with a blothcy red rash on his face. I thought it might have been from the washer I wiped hid face with after he finished eating because he was a big mess lol

Now this morning for morning tea I gave hiom a piece of fruit toast with butter on with a drink of milk. Again he has eaten this numerous times before, but today he has come out in a rash again. This rash is only on his face around his mouth/cheeks, nowhere else.

What do you think? Also I should note that his twin sister has eaten the same thing with no reaction.

If it is an alergic reaction what step do I take next? Do I go to the GP and ask for a blood test?

    Thanks

it sounds like a reaction.. no idea what it is from though. yep, go to your GP and they will refer you on to an immunologist.

It sounds like a reaction to something. Next time he has one take a photo. Do you have digital camera? That way you can show the GP and keep it for the specialist if the GP thinks you need to see one as it can be helpful for them to see what the reaction is.
I did this for DS2 as he had milk intolerance rather allergy and he grew out of it.
    Good luck

Thanks for your replys ladies. It went away within about 1 - 1.5 hours. Poor little man. And it was just the rash. He was he usual self with loads of energy and was still very happy

Heather thats a great idea about the photo. I will definately do that if it happens again.

Boomba- nope haven't changed the washing powder. If you come over today you can give him lots of cuddles to make it better
