Ok, so I finally caved in and got a wii fit yesterday with my B'day $$. Because we live out of town, I cant get to the gym and I cant run. I neeeeed something to track weight and food cause otherwise I give up...so, does anyone have any suggestions of how I make the most of the wii fit?
I want to keep motivated and lose these kg's - I need to fit back into my work cloths!
I try to spend an hour a day on it.. Either 1 hour all up or 2 3 minute sessions
I haven't had much time this past week as I had my mum here and we were out most of the day but I still did my body test and some training.. Mainly the steps and some yoga.
I think making sure you drink plenty of water while exercising and then eating in moderation afterwards is the way to make it work.. I am always starving after exercising so I try and have a small breakfast then jump on for an hour then I clean the house to distract me from having anything to eat.
We have it and have probably used it no more than 10 times in total...I used for a couple of days in a row once and that was good, just hard finding the time to get on it everyday and now the Wii is kind of forgotten about. Poor thing!
Also do a variety of the exercises, I found (when I actually did use it!) that I liked some of the exercises more than others so I would do them instead of the ones I found difficult. Like the Step one I loved but didn't like the muscle/stretching ones (cause I am so not flexible!) so I would tend to steer away from them.
It is like any activity, you need to push yourself with it. I have to stop myself from just doing the fun activities and to do the ones that push me more. It is good for the weight tracking and also has the option tracking your waist measurement. Very interesting to check out the calories burned and checking out the chart to see what food equivalent you have worked off. That can be motivating to get your butt moving a bit more.
I have been getting mine out again lately. I did have issues for awhile there of my youngest always crawling all over it and my eldest bugging me the whole time. Now my eldest is better at waiting for her turn and my youngest stands in front of me on the yoga mat trying to copy me.
Mine is tucked in the corner of the room since we got the new telly...
But I found I got a bit bored with the Wii Fit game, so I bought EA Sports Active, which gets the heart rate up higher, and I sweat a lot with this one!
The website 'Wii Fit Accessories' has a list of games that you can use with the Balance Board.
Now that I have admitted to casting the board asside, I'm going to dig it out & hula-hoop for a while. Then do half an hour of steps!
