At the beginning of the financial year my CCB% was 46%. I then went on parenting payment when DF was off work due to health reasons so CCB% went to 100%. DF is now back at work and our CCB% has returned to reflect the income estimate i've given to centrelink. I've just received our new CCB% letter and its dropped to 34% yet our income estimate didnt change at all. I done an estimate online using the calculators and it was estimated at somewhere around the 46% mark. What would be the reason why i have 2 different CCB% yet our income estimate hasnt changed??
not being BG, at a guess, Id say its so that you dont get a CCB overpayment at the end of financial year.
so your income estimate dropped, and they increased your CCB.
Then your income estimate went up again - if they leave your CCB at the first rate, you've been overpaid for hte time when your DP was not working.
the system automatically adjusts your percentage to stop you getting an overpayment of CCB. given it went from 46 to 100 and then back down, the system is assuming that the time it was at 100 is an overpayment and is trying to correct it. given you were on income support for that time, there is no need for this to happen. give FAO a call and ask if they can check that for you and they should be able to remove the "correction" and put you up to the legislative rate of ccb
well i rung and apparently the lower CCB% is the correct one. explained it as having a high income then dropping with income support then going back to high will see the period of being on income support as an overpayment so they have dropped the % further to cover it. I dont know sounds too complicated for me.
hun, you can stop the overpayment correction occurring - you are automatically entitled to the higher amoutn while on income support so you're allowed to decline the correction and have your legislative rate.
you're entitled to A. while on income support, it was X. now you're not longer on income support, you're entitled to A again. the system thinks you're entitled to less than A because you were overpaid while getting X but you weren't - call back and ask to have it put back to your legislative entitlement
BG apparently its a new legislation that came in this fiancial year. I told them what you told me in your first post and they still said it couldnt be changed.
Ok. Our income estimate is about to go up Cos dh got a job.
So I've tried to estimate our overpayment by using the online thingy.
I put in the new income and worked put the ccb Amt per day we should have recieved (I did sep. Calcs for the time it was just ds1 in cc and for when it was two of them cos the percentage changes
so I worked out that we have a ccb overpayment of about $300.
Two q's
do I repay the whole amt? I would have gotten 50% back as CCR so if I have to repay all of it do I get the rebate later?
Do I have to have my ccb percentage adjusted to repay it or can I pay it on cash or have it deducted from my CCR ? And again would it b the full Amt of 50% of it
secondly - the CCB will reduce for the balance of the year so that you don't get the overpayment that you think you'll get. if the reduction means you end up getting less CCB than you're entitled to, it will all work out at reconcilliation. if you are entitled to 100 more CCB than what has been paid at reconcilliation, you'll get the 100, but 50 will be deducted for the rebate you have received. because the final quarter rebate isn't calculated until you've done your tax, if you OWE CCB, it will all be calculated before you get the CCR and you shouldnt' end up with a debt as such
hope that helps - ping me on msn if you need more info hun
