I am going to do the same thing when we finally replace ours. I was going to use PUL - Squiddy will know what that is. It was the best fabric I thought would be suitable to make covers for the seats.

I can remember as kids that mum and dad put a small towel on our chairs that we sat on. It did the job.

I bought wooden chairs for that very reason. Someone I know had thick plastic put over hers by her apholsterer. It lasted years and didn't rip.

If you're buying a new one maybe you should look out for leather chairs, they wipe off so easily.

Yep, also suggest buying dining suite in leather. Our is cloth and gets revolting in 5 seconds flat, and I struggled to find a suitable way to keep it clean. In the end I bought a leather dining chair at a garage sale for $15, and it is quite possibly the best $15 I've ever spent!

We will be replacing all of our dining chairs with leather at some stage, just not until after we've thrown money at other areas of our house! I may be waiting a while...

i am interested in this, we just bought a beautiful dining suit on ebay for $300 including bedroom furniture. ( we were very blessed with this purchase, our bedroom suit was white with pink handles that i had used since i was 10). but the seats are that cream microsuede stuff and with little miss hendo coming soon i soo want to know how to keep it clean. What is PUL?
