I need something to go over the hotplates I'm not using when I'm cooking. I guess want is some hotplate covers but NOT the tacky ones with geese on them! I only want to use them while I'm cooking. I found some on ebay for $65 but don't think I want to spend quite that much and I refuse to have anything with tacky geese on it in my house.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy something like this? Or even suggestions for how to cover them while I'm cooking?
I have two boards that I made over 30 years ago that I varnished. They are easy to wipe and when I use 2 hotplates I only need to remove 1. This also gives me more bench space for when I am using the electric pan etc. I put hot pans straight on the boards.
You could paint them to match your kitchen then varnish
Rivlas, (or is it AKA Martha Stewart??)
Thanks for that! I am looking at my hotplates now thinking how great it would be not to have the bench space wasted! When i cook I mostly use one hotplate...and the microwave. Oh, and the telephone too IYKWIM.
Can i ask what they are made of? Or do you think it wouldn't matter? Just thinking in case they get hot.
