DH and I have started to pack a few things today for our move in about 9ish weeks (we're trying to be organised!). We have moved before but we only had a small amount of stuff to move then. We had all new furniture and the apartment we brought was new. Really the only stuff we brought with us was our clothes, blankets/linen, bed and crockery/utensils. Everything else was brought brand new and delivered by the companies we got it from.
Now we have ALOT more stuff. And two kids! So any tips on making this easier and more efficient. It's a big move, the place we are going is 9hrs away, so we want to minimise breakages too.
TIA!
We have moved 6 times in the past 2.5years. To be honest if it is local move then i will pack slowly over a few weeks and pay someone to move (our last local move was $600) for 40m3.
The interstate moves were about $3k and to pay them to pack (esp for insurance reasons) was worth the $800 or so they charge.
Check your insurance as you will find it is very limited and you are advised to get private transit insurance. We got it for the interstate moves which i am glad as they cracked a dining setting and glass panel which was quickly replaced.
