spoke to my GP who recommended we get the kids their vax especially if they are in day care. so i think i am going to go ahead and get it done.
DD2 is due for 12 months needles in a month-ish so GP said it would be fine to get the swine flu done with those and we would get DD1 done the same day. however they need another shot 4 weeks later.
i am thinking of going back to work (kids will be in day care) and this could happen before they get their 2nd shot.
question is.. does that mean they could get swine flu after having only one shot? should i try and delay going back to work until the second shot is complete?
Hi Hollo - my understanding is that they will have "some" protection after just one shot. My doc explained that this could mean that they could still catch it, however as they would have some protection, they would not get it as bad as they would if they had no injections (hope that makes sense)!
My DD has only had the first injection as unfortunately at the time that she was due for the second she caught a cold. This was also at the time that she had just started day care. So we are waiting for her full recovery prior to getting the last shot.
