How much water should he be drinking?

DS is 13 months old and still breastfeeds around 4 times a day. They're not always long feeds, and often he'll go 5+ hours between feeds. In between I offer water all day long. What I'm wondering, is how much water should he be drinking? He probably goes through about 200-300ml in a whole day. Is that enough?

    TIA

    Hi Sterla,

That's plenty of water for that age!! Especially with the bf as well! You have absolutely nothing to worry about. You'll find that the amount may decrease in winter, especially if he's still bf because it's not as hot. He will drink what he needs as long as you offer it to him and eventually he'll get to an age where he'll start asking for a drink when he's thirsty HTH

Totally normal! that's about all DD drinks too! She loves her water but prefers her breastmilk!! She too has about 4-5 day feeds.... they get plenty of water in the BM.

Thanks for your replies - I'm glad he's getting enough! Hard to know these things sometimes.
