    Holiday Destination?? Christchurch

    Hi Girls

DH and i are planning a mini break next year to christchurch.
Wondering if anyone can tell us things to do or good places to stay.
Happy to do 1-2 night a little distance (keeping in mind we dont have a car or camper!)

    Christchurch is beautiful!
The Chateau on the Park is stunning and is close to everything (not that anything is very far in Christchurch! lol)

If you get the time, I really recommend hiring a car and going to Hanmer Springs for the day. It is only about 90 mins form Chch and is just beautiful - they have hot springs! The best day out ever!

There is also a restaurant in the city, can't remember the name!! but it is perfect for a nice dinner, divine food and not too exxy. The most sublime deserts in Christchurch!

If you're into gardens and cool stuff that Mother Nature grows, the Botanical Gardens are a must see. Plus the garden restaurant there was cheap and awesome.

The River Avon has some beautiful paths alongside too.

We stayed in a gorgeous old hotel Warners Christchurch in the centre of town on cathedral square, the food was stunning and the building had so much character, the lift was so old school that you had to run in and grab the handle and hold it up while everyone piled in otherwise the doors would shut on you

So it was a lot of fun and really lovely, and osmething a little bit different

You add calories just looking at the menu, but well worth it, IMO..
