Girl's Name: Help Me Out Here

OK, I'm just hopeless with names. It took us two weeks to name DD. We found out we're having another girl today and you'd think I'd have learnt my lesson but the only list I'd written AGAIN was for boys.

I like names that are multi-functional (it's the Gemini in me) and can be used in lots of ways. I called DD1 Katrina because then if she didn't like her proper name she could call herself Kat, Trina, Katie or what we call her ... Kitty etc. etc. I like names that sound a bit tomboyish like Charlie, Francesca (which could be Frankie) and Danielle (which could be Danni)

I like Irish names. I love the way you say Sinead, Siobahn and Roisin BUT I don't like the fact that they're not spelt how they sound.

I DON"T like names that are too feminine or girly like Grace, Lily, Olivia etc. and I don't like weird spelling or out there names.

There's lots of names that I like the look and sound of but just can't imagine calling them out in the playground/supermarket like Dita (besides, DP said this sounded like a robot).

Help me out guys.

I'm not sure if it's anything like what you want, but my daughter is Allira
We have been known to call her Ally, or Lira. Cna also be shortened to Al for boys version.
I don't think it's too 'out there' but I'm pretty biased. lol

One of the final contenders for DD2's name was Phillipa and we were going to use Pippa as the nn.

Alexandra- could be Lexie, Alex, Allie.
Christine/a- Chris, Chrissy, Christy, Tina

You could try a website I love called Nymbler, you type in names you like, and it will give you similar selections. Can be pretty handy.

Hope these help:
As previously mentioned - Georgia (or Georgina or Georgette) Henrietta and Phillipa are good choices I think.
What about Constance, Evelyn(might be to girly? or Eleanor (Really like this one te he)?
In regards to Irish names, don't be afraid to spell them phonetically - eg Rosheen/shan, Shevawn, Shenade.

Henrietta - Hetty, Henri, Retta
Francesca - is a favourite of mine & I have a girlfriend with this name. She is Cesca (Sesska)
Francis is another that I love. It was on my short list. Frankie, Fran, Franny... I love it.

Geneva... It's got the Gen, it's got the Eva, it's got a little bit of edge as a cool name.

Just had to come back to add Alberta. If we didn't have an A surname, it would be high on my list. Partly cos of Albee from Love is a Four Letter Word, remember how gorgeous she was? Also cos my dad is Canuckian.
