    pet bond

We have rental three times in Australia and each time we have had a pet so we have had to pay the $100 pet bond. The previous 2 times we moved out they did not pay the pet bond back and we were not asked to fumigate for flees. Now this time we have received a letter from the agency that they want proof we have fumigated inside and outside the house for flees. I thought this was what the pet bond was for. ?

I've never paid a pet bond but I'd imagine it was more for damage a pet could cause to fences, yard, doors, flyscreen, carpet etc...
If the flea fumigation was in the lease then yep you've got to do it in addition to the pet bond. Was giving back the pet bond part of the lease? You could ask for the pet bond back if your pet left no damage to the property.

As a rental owner, I assumed the pet bond is to cover damage by the pets (garden/carpets/walls/fences, etc), and to cover the fumigation if the tenant doesn't have it done. I can't remember what is in our lease specifically.

If it's not spelled out in the lease, then you'd have room to negotiate.
