    Not coping @ work

This is just a bit of a vent really.

I've had a really crappy last few days at work. Last friday the pressure got too much and I had a bit of a meltdown. I was feeling very stressed and found it very hard to wind down afterwards. Back at work again today and the stress got too much for me again and I ended up a blubbering mess.

This is not usually me. I usually handle pressure quite well. I guess stress and pregnancy hormones don't mix. And I'm stressing about being stressed because I know it's not good for the baby.

The next few weeks are going to be tough with a co-worker away I'll be literally doing 2 peoples work.

How do I not let it all get to me? I'm just so wound up and emotional ATM.

Bring on maternity leave is all I can say. I'm not handling this full-time working mummy and pregnant business very well at all. . .

I do think the pg hormones make you more vulnerable to stress - it's like natures way of making you take a step back from the world while you're growing a bubba. Unfortunately in our modern lives we're not always able to retreat like we'd like to. My advice is - don't be afraid to talk to your boss about how hard you're finding things, and don't be afraid to approach your GP if you're getting really worn out. Pregnancy is a legitimate reason to need more rest/time off than usual.

Big hun. I was a mess both times I was pg- just comes with the territory I think. Not nice but.

Is there any way you can take some time off before your co-worker goes away? Are you able to ask for help for those few weeks? Yes, you have every reason to be stressed and tired. Big hugs!

I really struggled at work when I was PG too. I ended up reducing my hours much earlier than I had planned, so even though I worked until late in my pregnancy I had time off to rest & re-charge.
Make sure you are getting some time out to chill when you are home - easier said than done, I know but it's important

    Thanks everyone for your replies.

I'm having a sick day today actually (well a mental health day probably more like it) although I'm about to log on remotely from home and do a bit of work so it's not too full-on when I get back tomorrow.

I think I will need to talkt to the boss. I just don't know how sympathetic he'll be, but hopefully he will help me out while my co-worker is away.

    Thanks again everyone.

Are you able to do some prenatal yoga during lunch hr?

I remember being totally stressed out at work (projects due, didnt even have time to be sick) while i was pregnant and the prenatal yoga really helped calm me down.

Hope it gets better for you soon!
