    Snacks

Sorry if there's already a thread about this. Just after some ideas for healthy snacks for DD, apart from fruit.
Also different ideas for lunch, she's probably getting sick of cruskits and bread, i know I am

Healthy snacks I fed DD at that age were:
    - cheese
    - zucchini slice
    - raw or cooked beans

Lunch I give yoghurt and a sandwich and mix up the fillings sometimes....you could give her some vegies.....I'm pretty bad at variety....hope these suggestions help. Once she's a little older options really open up but when they're little it's kinda tough. Just give her tastes of lots of things. DD2 often gets a bit of whatever DD1 is eating. Ham's another good one

There's a fabulous recipe around here for cheese and corn scones that DD loved (should give that another go now that I think of it!). It's literally a can of creamed corn, the same can of SR flour, bits of bacon, herbs, whatever, all mixed in together and baked for about 12 mins in a warm oven.

Other than that, we had sultanas, rice cakes, sandwiches, sushi (one of DD's absolute faves) and anything else that I liked (healthy)! I really don't think you can go too far wrong with fruit though, so if it's working, there's not really a need to offer too much else.

Ha ha - I thought this was a message for me

    Fruit is a great snack!
How about salad? Like half-slices of cucumber, tomato, capsicum? Phoebe enjoys this with her lunch.
    Slices of cheese

As for lunch, I like using left-overs too (for Phoebe that is - Natty is hopeless and really only eats sandwiches and cruskits for lunch). Meatballs, pasta, chicken... Anything that we've previously had for dinner. I usually serve it cold too! Easier and she doesn't care one way or the other.

Lol Snacks, as soon as I posted I thought that

Thanks for the ideas think I'll be making some zucchini slice and scones for her, she doesn't eat much but just wanted to give her something different, and for those times when her day routines are all mucked up because she sleeps late or wakes up early, or won't have a morning sleep etc etc. Kids!
