We've had some massive storms in Perth on Monday night and as a result pretty much every room in our house that has carpet in it got wet! I'm talking torrential downpour of stinky water that came in through closed windows and doors!
I've lodged my claim with the insurance company and have tried to dry them out as best I can, keep the windows open and fans on to keep air circulating but it still stinks!!!
Anyway... could this in anyway be bad for my health and the baby's? A few people have suggested that it's not good for me to be here with the mould etc... but I don't want to overreact IYKWIM?
Give the insurance company and tell them you are pregnant and the smell is making you ill. They should be able to get dryers to you to help dry the carpet. If it needs pulling up ask if this can be done 'for health reasons'
What ever you do, don't pull the carpet up without authorisation and a authorisation no.
Make sure you get the persons name etc if you are allowed to do anything before they get there or your claim may be rejected.
When the washing machine overflowed I had DD1 home really sick and the insurance company were really helpful
