    Q's on BBH OSFA nappies

I am just reading through and have a few quick questions. I am using mixture of BBH bamboo and hemp nappies, OSFA. Does everyone elses nappies literally get soaked through or is this because he is a heavy wetter? I use the big booster/liner thing but he still soaks through to the PUL cover.
Also, the smell! Not that I leave bub in a wet nappy long, but as soon as he has wet, it just smells horrible. I have been put off using these when I go out because he smells so bad! How often do you was the PUL cover? I have 4, (I am using small size) and find they get smelly and I am only using them once as airing them out doesn't seem to do much.
    Thanks in advance

Yeah fitted nappies get soaked through if you leave them on long enough. I usually change every 3 or 4 hours and its ok with BBH.

I probably wash my covers.. um.. once a week? But I don't use the BBH full time, I have other nappies too.

How old is your bub? Could he be teething?

That makes the wee smell sooooo much worse!

Your nappies might need a strip wash too - a drop of dishwashing liquid and rinse until the water is clear (no suds).

Do they get good sunshine exposure? That helps kill the smell too. HTH

Hi I use these nappies too for overnight and the same thing happens sometimes, most often when DS wakes up for a few feeds during the night and then seems to wet through them like mad in the morning. I only use the covers once and then chuck them in the wash, it's a bit more work but I don't really like the idea of airing them out to use again, especially when the nappy gets so wet.

When you say the big booster do you mean the long snap in one or the big square one? I use the 2 snap in ones (long and short) and find that for a boy if you have more folds at the front then whole nappy doesn't get so soaked iykwim? Or you could try putting in a another booster to make it more absorbent?

I wash my covers with my hemp multifits - I have a problem of not having enough nappies but having an abundance of covers (whoops!). I leave the hemp nappy on until it's soaked and if the cover is met or smelly (it usually is), replace it with a new one. I found the nappies to absorb the smell quite well but the covers, not so much. Have you tried using both the inserts? Or are you using the smallest size setting?
