luke is 5mths and he wants bed by 7-7.30pm he is out to it doesn't matter if we are out for dinner or anything quick rock and he is asleep![]()
So i was just wondering out of curiosity, what time does you little one go to bed? My DD is 6 months on saturday, and she is without fail in bed and asleep between 6- 6:30pm. She normally wakes from her arvo sleep about 4:30, she has dinner around 5 then nappy free time while watching "In the Night Garden", bath, massage, Pj's, Bottle then bed. She is nackered by this time and goes to sleep pretty easily.
So, yeah, just wanted to know if others out there with little bubbas have a fairly set night-time routine and what time are they in bed by or do you just go with the flow???

Depends on the day and how she has slept during the day. e.g. tonight she was in bed and asleep by 6.30 because she wouldn't have an afternoon sleep so was knackered by then!
Normally when our day routine has gone to plan, I try and put her to bed between 7 & 7.30pm. However sometimes she doesn't want to go to sleep then (like last night!) and it may be 8 or 8.30 before she is finally asleep.
Mine is nearly 4 months and goes to bed at 7pm.
My little girl (3 months) usually goes to bed at 8pm however tonight she has already been in bed for half an hour. My big girl (21 months) usually goes to bed at 8.30pm however tonight she is also asleep early, it was a busy day.
We have dinner at about 5.30pm, go for a family walk at 7pm, bath when we return at 7.30pm, my little girl gets her massage while my big girl is still playing in the bath then breastfeed and sleep.
My DD is 4mths..she has a routine starting at 6pm of bath, boob and bed ending in bed at 6:30-6:45pm. Cry freeIt doesn't really matter what goes on during the day for her.
DS1 and DS2 both have dinner at 5pmish and bath with DD and they got to bed , DS2 between 7-7:30pm and DS1 15mins later. They sleep in the same room and it's easier if DS2 is already asleep by the time DS1 gets there.
I love routines![]()
DS has been going to bed at 8-8:30 every night since 5 months old now his night time routine is bottle bath and bed but he hasnt fed to sleep since about 2 months old
Sorry to hi-jack but can I ask all of those with babies going to sleep around 7ish I am assuming they are then going to sleep for the night? Is that something they have done by themselves or have you worked on them going to sleep and staying asleep? My DD goes to sleep at 7 but treats it like a nap and then won't go into her night time sleep until 10 ish so was wondering if other babies develop this earlier bedtime naturally or have some help to get to there?
DD has always gone to bed between 7 and 7.30 and still does now.
xx
DD currently goes to bed at 8.30pm - but her bedtime has changed over time, and normally at her instigation. There was only one time when we moved her bedtime, when she was having probs settling, and so we gradually changed it from 9pm to 8pm to stop her getting over tired. For quite a while between 1yr and 18motnhs, her bedtime was 6.30 on the dot!
Lana: I started a routine with all my kids in hospital of bath, feed and bed.
I just continue on and it all seems to fall into place. This may would not work for all bubs, it just depends really.
With DD I let her feed as often as she likes (within reason) during the day, her last feed is at 6:30pm then I pop her into her gro bag and she just seems to know that this is night time and time to sleep. Give her a kiss and say nighs nighs and walk out of the room. She sucks her fingers so that helps alot.
So you could say I have worked on it of sorts, she just follows my lead.
My little B has had a routine from hospital aswell which was mostly due to me being a NICU nurse and my need for times etc. Throughout the day I would strictly feed her 3 hourly, even if she was asleep I would wake her. She was still having 3 sleeps a day up until she was 8 months old and is still having 2 now at 16 monthsHer bed routine would start with dinner at 6/630pm, bath, pyjamas, story, breastfeed and bed by 7/730pm. She then sleeps til 7/730 in the morining ready for our day to start again.
When she was little (up to 6 weeks of age) she would wake at 2am for a BF and I would go in, turn a lamp on, change her nappy and feed her etc. without talking to her so she need it was bedtime. I dont know if I got a good baby etc. but it worked really well for us.
oh I am so jealous of you all! DS goes to bed anywhere between 9 and 11.30 and that's the way it's always been. If we're out he flatly refuses to sleep until we're home. He's not cranky, just so damn alert!! That being said we don't get out of bed until about 10am which works for me as I am definitely not a morning person![]()
Charlotte has always gone to bed at 8.30ish - since birth she would fall asleep at 8.30 - no earlier lol
It has only been the last few months that she is no longer breatfeeding at night that I mange to get her earlier.
Now (2) she goes to bed at 7.30, asleep by 8. Unless wwe are having a slow night lol
Dd used to be 7 on the dot, then around 12 months she started transitioning to one day sleep, meaning if she had two sleeps she would be up till 9 pm. Now we're back to 7pm
I always let her set the routine. It's worked well for us.
DS has 2, sometimes 3 sleeps per day, depending on what time he's woken up in the morning.
I give him dinner at 5pm & he is usually wanting bed by 6pm, no matter what time he got up in the morning. I've tried stretching him out but he won't have a bar of it!!
You and me both!
DS has only JUST lately started going to bed anywhere between 6:30pm and 8pm and then waking between 1am and 3am for a feed then going back to sleep till between 6am and 7:30am
But before this (this has only been a week long thing - he does that too.. Makes something one week long, gives us hope for sleeping then *bam!* hits us with a new routine.. We're hoping this one sticks) he wouldn't sleep until 9:30-10pm and wake at 2am on the dot, then wake again at 4am on the dot and then wake and stay awake at 6am and I was just frazzled by the end of this (still am, but not as bad)
