I think we're nearing the end....

and I'm not ready for it!!

DS has cut right back on his feeds and has been having a morning feed on waking for the last 2 weeks and nothing more.
This morning he had such a quick feed, I wonder if he actually managed to get anything. I have been offering during the day. I ask if he wants booby, he bounces up and down with a big smile and pulls at my top but doesn't end up wanting any. He arches his back and just wants to get away from me.

I called the ABA helpline tonight because I just wasn't feeling happy about the situation, and she also agreed that it sounds like he may have had enough. I could try and offer him less solids or water in the hope that he would want more BM like she suggested, but I feel like that may be forcing him to BF when he really may not want to. This has also coincided with him starting to sleep through 11-12 hours every night for the last 8 nights, so there aren't any night feeds either.

I guess I am just a little sad about it all.

megan. they really do grow up so quickly. maybe barb will pop in - i'm sure she's said before that babies lose interest around 12 months (and i think your little man is close to this) but get a renewed interest a few months later? i don't know but if it is the end of your BFing journey, i hope you have some lovely memories (& maybe some photos) to celebrate the journey.
