Can anyone help?

I have to apologise in advance because this will probably be the most boring question ever asked on this forum..... but we're desperate!!
The Bear and I have misplaced a folder of Amex statements and we really need them to finish a tax return. We have contacted Amex to replace them and they say it will cost $500
The thing is, we both KNOW we have seen them around somewhere, they are in a manila folder with PERSONAL AMEX written on the tab. We thought they were in the filing cabinet but I have looked six times in every single file and they are not there. We might have taken them out to add up some fees but I think that would have been before we moved, so not sure where they would be now if we did...
Please if any of you lovely ladies are good at this kind of thing do you have any ideas?

Thanks TD, there are no cupboards in the bedroom but I'll have another look in the cupboards in the Bear's office... and well, everywhere!

Ha Melski, you're giving us credit for being far more organised than we are But I am going to look through the whole cabinet again and through a bunch of old papers in the storage room... Not paying $500 to replace the wretched things!

im seeing one of those brown and black filing cardboard boxes that have pictures stored in them atm.

try the back of the filing cabinet to..they may have slipped into the actual body

I get attic or storage place. Have they been put into a container for old things? I definitely see up high, so maybe even on top of a dresser?

I see them sitting on a brown cabinet - an older style one (not old fashioned, more like a 70's / 80's cabinet)
