My boys having a heart to heart

Last night was at a friends house with my three youngest and my friends DS12 punched DD8 in the nose. When we got home she told me DS11 was holding her down while this boy punched her. DS11 said it wasn't true and got quite upset and said DD was lying, anyway not sure who is telling the truth. DS14 heard this and had a chat to his brother. He told him that we always put family first and if someone hurts his sister he needs to help her. DS11 responded with, "you told me once you like your friends better than me"
DS14 "yeah but I was mad with you at the time, I love you and if I saw someone hurting you I'd be the first to help"
This conversation went on for a bit and I actually had to leave the room as I was getting a bit teary, they have never spoken like this to each other, normally the usual brotherly arguments so it was just so nice to see them sitting down having a serious talk .

    Regards,
    Dianne

That's wonderful Dianne, not just them sitting to talk but your older boy setting the younger one straight... things like that make you think you must be doing something right!
