    mystery shopping and FTB implications

I have been doing Mystery Shopping and Online Surveys on a 'casual' basis for a few years now and just recently they have sent me a Tax File Decleration form. If I give them my tfn and say that I want to claim the tax free threshold etc will this effect my family allowance?

Hi - a friend asked me the question above. My first thought was that you didn't pay tax on that stuff ? I think her husband earns around 50-60k and she has no income of her own.

    TIA

she will need to declare her estimated taxable income - if it's deemed taxable income by the ATO it's deemed taxable income by FAO.

if her income is under about 5k for the year it will have no impact on her ftb part b - but every dollar she earns will impact her ftba. it is a small impact but definitely needs to be declared
